Mount Batur Sunrise Trek & Hot Springs

Summit an active volcano for sunrise above the clouds, refuel with a volcano-view breakfast, then ease tired legs in natural hot springs by Lake Batur - a big one-day adventure out of Ubud.

What You'll Do

Mount Batur Sunrise, Bali
Stop 1

Mount Batur Sunrise Trek

A pre-dawn start and a guided climb up the 1,717-metre active volcano, reaching the summit just as the sun breaks over Lake Batur and Mount Agung. The trail is moderate and no technical experience is needed - just a head torch, warm layer, and a sense of adventure.

Batur Breakfast, Bali
Stop 2

Breakfast with a Volcano View

At the top, breakfast is served with one of Bali's best views - including eggs gently cooked in the volcanic steam rising from the crater. Catch your breath, take it all in, then head back down as the island wakes up.

Stop 3

Natural Hot Spring by Lake Batur

We finish with a soak in natural volcanic hot springs on the shore of Lake Batur. Mineral water warmed underground by the volcano eases tired legs after the sunrise trek, with the caldera and lake around you. The perfect, relaxing end to a big morning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the price per person or per car?

Per car - one price covers up to 5 people, so a fuller car costs less per head. Groups of 6 or more simply take a second car. Only the Exclusive version adds a per-person part: the entrance tickets.

Are entrance tickets included?

Your choice, via the Standard / Exclusive toggle above. Standard keeps tickets out - you pay at each gate, only for the places you enter. Exclusive includes the tickets for the listed stops, so the whole day is prepaid.

How do I book and pay?

Pick your date, tap Book, and confirm on WhatsApp. A 10% deposit secures your car and driver; the balance is paid in cash or by transfer at the end of the tour. Guests staying at our villas skip the deposit entirely.

How hard is the trek?

About two hours of climbing in the dark to the 1,717 m summit - it asks for reasonable fitness, not athleticism. Licensed guides and headlamps are provided, the pace is yours, and breakfast waits at the top.

I can't manage the climb - is there an alternative?

Yes: the 4x4 jeep version on our Kintamani Sunrise tour delivers the same volcano dawn with zero trekking - the right pick for older travellers, mums-to-be, or protesting knees.
